Church Reopening Guidelines:

Good Morning Brothers & Sisters,

As you know the leadership at Imperial Church of Christ has been working to make the appropriate preparations for the church’s reopening. We are confident that we have a plan in place that will allow us to comply with the guidelines provided by the state of California. Although we will still continue to offer all of our current services through Zoom, we have created a safe environment for those who wish to worship in person. In order for us to safely do this, it will take the help of each member to be respectful of one another’s space, responsible, and to follow the guidelines that we have outlined below.

Effective July 5, 2020

  • For those that wish to worship at the building: the church will open ONLY for Sunday Morning Worship Services at 10:45

  • For those that want to continue worshipping on Zoom: Sunday morning worship will start at 10:45 NOT 10:00

  • Sunday evening and Tuesday evening Bible Classes: will remain on Zoom at their normal scheduled time

  • We are restricted to 25% of our building’s capacity, which will limit us to a total of 80 members allowed during worship service. To ensure that we are in compliance with this number, you must register to attend. You can go to our website at imperialchurchofchrist.com and click on “Church Reopening” to register. Or you can send an email to imperial_coc@icloud.com with your name, phone number, the dates you will be attending, the number of people attending, along with each of their names. You will also need to confirm that you have read and agreed to the guidelines below. We will need all of this information for each week that you plan on attending.

If you choose to attend worship service at the building:

  • There will be no hugging, kissing, handshakes, etc. allowed.

  • You must stay 6ft apart unless you are with your own family. We ask that you please respect the space of others, so no one is uncomfortable.

  • Children MUST stay with their parents at all times

  • The nursery and classrooms will not be available for use

  • The water fountains will not be available for use

  • Seating will be only at the end of every other pew. This will safely allow a 6ft proximity between each individual, and ensure that no one has to cross over anyone

  • YOU MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES

We ask that if you are not feeling well, that you please stay home and join us online for our Zoom services, we do not want to put anyone at risk.

Guidelines for attending Worship Service:

  • As stated above you must register online through the website before attending worship service. If you do not register, we cannot guarantee that we will have enough space for you to worship in the building. Please help us do things in decency and in order by registering ahead of time.

  • Please put your mask on before exiting your car

  • Please have your offering ready before exiting your car (checks written etc.)

  • Everyone will enter through the main entrance

  • Everyone attending worship service MUST have their temperatures checked before entering the building. Please arrive early to allow time for this to be done.

Once in the building:

  • You MUST use the sanitizer to sanitize your hands

  • Pick up your communion cup which will be spaced out at the entrance on the table

  • Drop your offering in the basket held by one of the leaders at the entrance

  • Go to your seat. We cannot have socializing in the foyer, and we must maintain 6ft apart at ALL times

When Service is over, we will have the 2 side doors open for you to exit. We ask that you please leave immediately and continue to practice social distancing while in the parking lot.

We all know that COVID-19 is a very serious and deadly virus that does not yet have a cure. We want to make sure that we are in compliance with all guidelines put in place by the state of California, and that we are doing everything to keep you as well as ourselves safe during this time. We ask that you follow the above guidelines to ensure the safety and respect of everyone attending.

If you have ANY questions or, please feel free to contact me directly.

With Brotherly Love,
